Opened in February of this year, Star Dome is a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel constructed in the shape of a geodesic dome, located at the heights of Ataluca. A world UNESCO Heritage Site in Peru’s Sacred Valley de Incas. Prior to Star Domes opening, Ataluca was unattainable for tourism. Apart from local Quechua community, nobody had set foot on the mountain in over 1,000 yrs.

The structure of the hotel consists of a bottom floor with five luxurious rustic Incan inspired suites. The top floor features the immersive Star Deck, one of the best points in the world for star gazing. The hotel was founded by Bob Berman, a Toronto native and Owner of Soul 7. Star Dome was created to connect the world to traditional Quechua spiritual practices and promote sustainable tourism through culturally immersive experiences and giving back.
Bob became interested in alternative medical practices after his wife of passed cancer. During one of his many visits to Peru, he began to seek answers. This eventually led to his introduction to Carlos, a Shaman from the Quechua, a local indigenous community. He began to form a strong connection to the spiritual healing practices of the Quechua culture. He developed an interest in energetic transformation and sought the wisdom of the Apu, or Mountain spirits of Machu Picchu. This inspired Bob to create Soul 7, a health and wellness clinic merging ancient Quechua healing wisdom with modern energy medicine technologies, in his hometown of Toronto. After Soul 7’s success, Bob was inspired to create Star Dome, which he describes as “A Labor of Love” founded on the idea of extending the “Healing Energy of Star Dome to the World.”
Star Dome was born to introduce the rest of the world to Peru’s local Quechua Community’s spiritual wisdom and practices while promoting sustainable tourism by providing employment opportunities and investment in educational, cultural, and environmental programs. As a result, Star Dome offers its guests all-inclusive, curated, culturally immersive experiences, where a portion of the proceeds are given back. The 3, 5, and 6- day packages include curated tours of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, a night or more of stargazing on the Star Deck, part of an overnight stay at Star Dome, spiritual ceremonies, and shaman led San Pedro rituals.
The 3-day Quechua Connection includes the Apu Experience, where guests are picked up from a five-star hotel, Palacio Del Inca Hotel in Cusco. They are transported to Star Dome for an overnight stay, where time is spent connecting with the mountain spirits of the Sacred Valley known as Apus. This is followed by a night of stargazing on the Star Deck and literally sleeping under the stars !!! Ended with breakfast and a trip to the Sun Temple in Ollantaytambo. Star Dome also offers a 5- day Spiritual Transformation. This includes the Apu Experience and a Shaman-led ceremony, where guests can experience the hallucinogenic healing of San Pedro, a local cactus said to possess medicinal powers that help to transcend one to a higher consciousness. Last is the 6-day spiritual awakening package, which includes 6 days of spiritually transformative ceremonies in the Sacred Valley, ended by a once-in-a-lifetime tour of Machu Picchu.
