The winter season is in full swing. As we hunker down to get through the longer days, there are some bright spots to keep us going. The richness of fabrics, colors and textures are some of the best parts we enjoy when getting dressed this time of year. In between the crispness of fall and the spring refresh we look forward to, here are a handful of the most popular micro trends in fashion right now.
Preppy dressing has seen a resurgence and exploded with an academic aesthetic in collared shirts, cardigans, and argyle sweaters. Checkered patterns are also big ranging in size and a variety of geometric plaids, and classic houndstooth. Retro 70’s style continues to be prevalent featuring longtime favorites with a modern update. Plenty of corduroys, color blocking, and patchwork are staples we continue to see in retail. The richness of velvet isn’t just for the holidays. This fabric is at the forefront for everyday wear and we love all the saturated shades we are seeing it in. Speaking of color, let’s not forget that browns have been a huge color story so this is a great neutral to keep in your wardrobe palette for winter.
