Best TIE DYE Looks to Rock this Summer

Tie-Dye Trend Spring/Summer 2020

With 70’s inspiration in full swing, tie-dyes were all over the runways this season. The hippie-inspired trend showed up everywhere in unique and innovative ways. From an orange tie-dyed jumpsuit at Alberta Ferretti to an interesting white tie dye one piece at Isabel Marant.

Once reserved as a handcrafted project, fashion houses are reincarnating this timeless garment using different textile fabrics and styling them in updated silhouettes. It also gives a nod to the rising consciousness of sustainability. Going from runway to retail you will find it on celebrities to influencers leading to mainstream consumerism.

Tie-Dye has a long history in fashion. It has cemented its place as a whimsical iconic abstract and colorful print alongside florals, stripes, and other familiar staples. The love affair with this pattern spans decades and has roots in cultures across the globe well before its mass introduction and transition into ready to wear as we know it today.

The nostalgic pattern comes in many variations and colors ranging from the classic swirl and sunburst style to stripes, blended and watercolor ikat-inspired graphics seen pictured here. A more modern spin on the traditional effects is the ombre or dip-dye techniques just to name a couple.

This design started making its comeback about a year ago and was still sticking around in Fall/Winter. It isn’t going anywhere soon. Now it is appearing on everything including high-end items, activewear, loungewear, and even accessories and shoes. Countless brands are getting in on the act evoking the relaxed casual vibe and finding innovative ways to showcase fresh takes on styles for the renewed demand. Flip through fashion magazines and search the web or social media to find all kinds of Pinterest worthy interpretations of the craze.

Make sure it’s in your suitcase as a must-have for any vacation. Try creating a juxtaposition of vintage and modern to experiment with several on-trend ways to wear it.

Fashion is cyclical and this popular trend re-emerges every few years. This one is likely to be around for a while so embrace it for the summer season and beyond. It’s essential to add to your closet and hold on to. Grab one of the hottest styles of the season to elevate and add interest to your look while tye die is enjoying its moment in the summer sun. these Spring/ Summer 2020 pieces are to dye for, and something all fashionistas should have in their wardrobes.
