The famous Spanish retail chain has been one of the first retailers globally to implement this concept. Earlier this year, the brand rolled out a digitization strategy in its Flagship stores located in Stratford (UK), Milan (Italy), and London (England) (Inditex, 2018).
The new stores feature automated order collection points, self-checkouts, and mobile payment systems, in addition to dedicated areas for the purchase and collection of online orders. The stores offer simple and convenient checkout solutions by equipping sales staff with IPADS (Inditex, 2018).
Zara Milan features a smart distributor that enables shoppers to pick up online purchases at their convenience, by entering a QR code or the PIN received by mail when confirming the order. The Automated Collection Point, can manage 900 packages simultaneously, in conjunction with locate the selected order and deliver it to the customer seamlessly.
The stores features interactive mirrors equipped with RFID capable of identifying garments that interest customers, allowing them to visualize a range of outfits and accessories selected by the brand’s specialized team of stylists and designers.
The Milan store also has 2 large
